How's your personal magnetism? I was thinking about this subject the other day. Personal magnetism is not something only people like movie stars or politicians. Actually, our bodies are electrical systems. And, just like a magnet, we all can attract (or repel) people, situations or things either to or away from us.

This is because our thoughts and emotions are forms of energy as well, and the thoughts and emotions that we "send out" have a great deal to do with how others perceive us and how we interact in the world.

The key here is to become aware of the types of thoughts and emotions you generally have. Are they positive and open to possibilities, or negative and critical (of yourself or others)? A simple point to remember is that you attract what you focus on.

For example, if you catch yourself having a negative thought such as, "I'll never get ahead," you're sending out a negative, or repelling, energy. But if you turn it into a positive statement, like "I am succeeding in my chosen path," you'll be sending out a positive, attracting energy.

So,boost your personal magnetism with positive thoughts, and, like the old folk song, "let your little light shine."

Sunday afternoon

There is something strangely comforting about a quiet gray Sunday afternoon, whatever season it may be. I think it's because such days often put us in the mood to be more still, more quiet, to slow down a bit and take some time for ourselves. Plus it's a great time to find interesting pursuits to fill an otherwise boring day indoors.

To my delight, I discovered an old classic Casablanca was just about to start. I quickly popped some popcorn, made a nice cup of hot tea and settled into my favorite cushy chair for a lovely afternoon of vintage cinematic entertainment.

Considered to be one of the most popular films of all time, Casablanca is a timeless tale of romance, duty, war and survival, set in a confused, chaotic world. This rich film has just about every element – love, suspense, honor, betrayal, horror, joy, weakness and strength, all created with larger than life actors and actresses and exotic sets, costumes and Max Steiner's unforgettable music.

An interesting bit of Casablanca trivia it was first released in 1942 when World War II was raging in Europe. The film's themes of strength and survival fortified many an American with the strength to work hard and to sacrifice and persevere during the tough times brought about by the U.S. entry into WWII.

Of course, my friend, it is also a wonderful classic film that is extremely entertaining, and in my case, gave me the opportunity to be a happy couch potato for a gray Sunday afternoon. I think that's something we all could use every now and again.

Need a little space in lilfe

Are you feeling the need for a little spice in your life? Try spicing up your routine. Now, don't get me wrong – there's nothing wrong with having a routine. A routine can provide a sense of order, helping you to do certain things automatically, efficiently, and easily. It's something you don't have to consciously think about, like traveling a certain route to work, or doing the same exercise program, or performing necessary tasks. And that can be very helpful.

It's just that sometimes you may feel that your routines have you, rather than you have them. You can spend so much time in that automatic pilot state that you lose your sense of awareness and enjoyment of the moment, and a kind of boredom sets in. I know that sometimes happens to me when I look back on my day. If that happens to you too, it could be time to shake things up a bit, add some variety.

So go ahead, take a look at some of your own routines, and see what you can add or make different. Here are a few things to consider:

Traveling the same route? Try a different route, or vary what you do as you travel, such as listening to an audio book instead of the news, or a different type of music.

Buying and preparing the same foods? Experiment with foods that you've never tried before. Or try take-out or eating out once in a while.

Do you have the same "look"? The next time you need a haircut, try a different style. Try a different grooming product, or add a different color or item to your wardrobe.

Doing the same exercise? Try varying it with another kind. If you walk, try alternating it with riding a bike, for example. If you run, choose different routes.

But most of all, try adding a new routine – one of an enjoyable activity, a treat for yourself. And stick to it!

Little things

What would you see if your life suddenly flashed before your eyes? Would it be momentous occasions? I'm willing to bet that it would be a jumble of little things. Maybe a flashback to playing in the sun as a child, followed by a picture of the bus or train you just missed that day. Most of us don't have lives of high drama, like a soap opera character. As Oliver Wendell Holmes has said, "Life is a great bundle of little things."

And it's the accumulation of "little things" that can either leave us feeling stressed or happy. I'm sure you can recall a day when nothing seemed to go right. And it wasn't because anything really bad had happened, like being fired from a job or having an accident. But somehow you found yourself feeling angry or tired at the end of the day. Perhaps it was just a string of little things, like being splashed by a passing car, discovering you forgot a shopping list, and then the rude behavior of a passerby.

But I'd just like to point out that we can choose which "little things" we pay attention to. Take that imaginary string of little things I just mentioned. Maybe you were splashed by a passing car, but then the sun came out and promised a beautiful day. That shopping list you forgot? Maybe you saw an item that you'd always wanted just came on sale. Someone was rude to you? Maybe another person pointed out that you dropped something that you would have regretted losing.

You can create your own string of "little things" that will leave you feeling happy rather than stressed at the end of a day. Bask in a beautiful day, share a joke or a smile, do some little thing that gives you pleasure.

After all, it's always the little things, isn't it?

Looking for a fountain of youth

Do you know that old legend about the Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon who was supposedly looking for the fountain of youth from tales told by local Indians and discovered Florida instead? Well, he wasn't the first person to be lured by a dream of eternal youth. Medieval stories claim Alexander the Great and others were also seeking it at one time and another.

And it seems like people are still looking for a fountain of youth in terms of creams or supplements or health regimens that make extravagant, unproven claims. But one thing I've noticed in studies of centenarians -- people who've lived 100 years or more -- is that they have certain things in common. And that's staying active, having interests, and keeping connected with their loved ones.

It's that important mind-body connection. Staying physically fit is important, but so also is keeping mentally and emotionally fit. Centenarians who were studied showed they handled stress well and were the type of people who could let their worries end at the end of each day. Like anyone else, they had their difficult or challenging experiences, but it was their positive response to those difficulties and challenges that enabled them to carry on.

So there may be a fountain of youth after all, but not exactly as we envisioned it. As the "ageless" Sophia Loren has said, "There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age."

And that's a fountain I think we can all dip into.

Start Your Own Online Home Business With A Money Making Site

In the past I have fallen for the hype and wasted a lot of money because I really did not know what I was doing or did not have the experience and knowledge to put everything together to make an online home business work, so here are some tips to start your own online home business off on the right foot and how to make money online.

When you think about it, having a successful online business means that you will need to own your own domain, which will enable you to alter, add to and change your web site when necessary. You ideally need the opportunity of offering a free newsletter that visitors to your site can subscribe to, so you will require an autoresponder to be installed and a series of follow-up emails will need to be written. You will require products to sell and ideally you need to use companies who ship the goods on your behalf, otherwise you will need to get involved in accepting payments and shipping the goods, which you will have had to purchase first yourself. These are only a few of the basics and one can see that it can be very involved and complicated.

But let us look at what else may be required, just so that you are fully aware of what starting an online home business is all about. Owning your own domain and having access to your source code gives you the freedom to do what you like to your site, which means you have control of your business, but this will require knowledge of html. Internet Marketing is another animal altogether! You need visitors, lots of them, to your site to generate signups and sales, so ideally the online home business opportunity should offer a full training program and a forum where you can go to discuss your business, get assistance and ultimately you can offer help to others.

The ultimate of course is to find a business-in-a-box. This means that your website will come fully set up with the affiliate programs loaded and you will be able to select your own domain name and then be in a position to add any other programs to the site. The all important autoresponder should also be installed and ready to fire off emails to your subscribers, plus you will be able to add more follow-ups to your autoresponder.

You will be able to install a link exchange program to create linking partnerships, a stat counter, add banners or text links, change the colour and design of your site, choose your keywords and optimize your site for the search engines, link your blog to your site, add an article directory, stream fresh content onto your site, upload ebooks, software and more. Literally, you can do whatever you want as you have full control of your own online home business.

You may well be thinking that this is all too complicated and you do not have the knowledge, but that is the great advantage of joining an online program that sets your money making site up for you and with a comprehensive training program in place and an active forum which you can join and actively participate in, you will have all the help you need.

Starting an online home business does not mean that you are going to be generating an income immediately. You need to give yourself time to work through the training, learn and implement all that you can. It is a step-by-step process that takes time but each step you take builds your business. The marketing and advertising of a web site needs consistent, ongoing work, as you need to build momentum to ensure that your money making site is visible to as many people as possible.

If you have decided to start your own online home business you are in for an exciting time. You will experience frustrations and setbacks, but these can be overcome with the support and backup. The secret is just to press on and never quit. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. The learning curve may be steep, but work hard and have fun and once the momentum kicks in with your marketing and advertising you will start to make money online and reap the rewards of all the hard work you have put in.

Optimize your Blog for Search Engines

Blogs are naturally search engine friendly and optimizing your blog for search engines is really no different than optimizing your website. Here are some suggestions to get you started. Back Links: Backlinks play a very big role in Google's pagerank algorithm. Backlinks are extremely important to your blog's rankings, so make sure you have a large number of backlinks. Here is a list of places to submit your feed or blog. http://www.bloggertalk.net/blog_resources-cat-369.html Make use of the alt description tag: Spider bots cannot read images, so when adding images to your blog it's important to place information within the alt and anchor text of pictures. Make good use of anchor text: Don't use "click here" or other non-descriptive link text. Always use keywords as your anchor text. Google loves anchor text. Use relevant keywords: Did you know that in a 48 hour period there was 6138 searches done for game cheats? Wow! It looks like a majority of gamers are cheaters. When creating titles for your blog posts think about the words that web surfers will be typing to find your blog. 'Inventory Overture Keyword Selector Tool' is one of the best-known services for helping you choose the right keywords. Use ‘Inventory Overture Keyword Selector Tool’ to find what people are actually typing in to the search engines. I also suggest subscribing to Word Tracker. Their report of the most popular searches is published each Tuesday and distributed to over 30,000 subscribers. Technorati.com , is a blog search engine that also lists the top searched for words. The more targeted your keywords are, the greater your return in search engines will be. Use keywords in the body of your post as well as in blog header tags and the title of your posts. Update frequently: Remember that content is king and search engines love it, so update your blog regularly. Be sure to read my articles "Link Popularity in the Blogosphere, Major Search Engine Submission: How to get listed in Google, Yahoo and Msn and Blogging- Developing a Readership." Remember to optimize your blog for both search engines and people. Search engine optimization is hard work and an ongoing process. Invest a little time and learn the proper techniques and not only will your traffic come, but you'll increase your page rank too.

Online Dating Service

Finding the best online dating service

With different kinds of online dating services littering the Internet, it is sometimes confusing where to sign up. While there is actually no restriction on how many dating sites you can sign up with, it is good to just concentrate on a few that you can really trust. Besides, most of these sites charge minimal fees for some services. If you do not have the money to spare, you can just concentrate on one and make sure that you make the most out of the services that the site offers.

So how do you choose the best of the best? There is actually no fixed set of criteria in choosing an online dating site. It really depends on the requirements of the person and the services that they will find useful. One thing that you should of course consider is the reputation of the site. More popular sites will of course have more members, which in turn will translate to bigger chances of finding potential mates.

Another advantage of going with popular sites is the fact that they have a system that have already been tried and tested by people. Otherwise, they would not have become so popular. Another thing that you should look for is the technique that they use in matching people or the search keywords that they use. Some sites only match people who live within a state while others match people from all over the world. Some concentrate on age and vital stats while others include in the searches hobbies and interests.

Another consideration is of course the fee. Some sites offer their services for free while others charge a fee for subscriptions and additional services. Look out for these hidden charges when choosing a site. It is also good to go for sites that give you personalized and anonymous emails within the site. That way, you still keep your personal email intact. Some also have chatrooms where members can chat and hook up. These chat options allow members to keep their yms to themselves.

Most online dating sites will offer the same kind of services. Sometimes, it is actually up to the person where they feel most comfortable in. Below are just some of the online dating sites that you can try. Surf the net and look at the services that they offer. Browse through and then decide which is best for you.

1. Match.com

This is perhaps the most popular online dating site in the world. In fact, it has the largest number of members and according to their site, Match.com has inspired a lot of marriages, twice more than any other sites in the World Wide Web. Members are given free profiles and the freedom to browse through the profiles in the site.

There are however additional services that they charge a fee for. The site also includes forums and chatrooms where members can communicate. There are also dating advice and tips which members will find useful. Another good thing about the site is the fact that Match.com gives personalized email addresses to its members. This way, members are protected.

2. Eharmony.com

This is another site that single people find really useful. Their site boasts of more marriages per matches than any other dating site. Like Match.com, the site gives members free space to place their profiles as well as put personals inviting people to view them.

3. Plentyoffish.com

This is another site that is immensely popular to single people. The site offers free advice for dates and for searching through the thousands of profiles in its archive. There are also spaces for personals and for profiles where members can upload their photos and write something about themselves.

Nurture Love

Can you find love love without relationship or relationship without love? It all boils down to what you are looking for, or what you are ready to give. You have to be willing to nurture love. You have to be willing to nurture relationship. As the saying goes, do unto others as you'd like done unto you.

If we take a deeper look inside love and relationship, we can see that there are a few components or rules of engagements, if you prefer, that one has to follow in order to have lasting and enjoyable love and relationship.

Laying the foundation is a must in order to have a long-lasting relationship. After that, we can look at compatibility or incompatibility, good communication, hability to share, etc.

What is the definition of a good relationship? It is one based on trust, love, and faith, self-control and sharing. When one partner is giving more than the other one, this is not love. One is taking advantage of the other. When one partner trusts that his or her partner is faithful and trustworthy while the partner is out spreading it around like there is no tomorrow then someone is bound to get hurt.

Friendship is commitment between two or more people, and often friends join in activities. Friendship should also be about having fun together, entertain one another, and good communication. True friends will go the extra mile for the sake of the relationship. Friends will not interfere with each other’s life, unless the friend sees the need to address an issue that is causing the friend harm, or about to cause him/her harm.

Friends that develop into serious intimate relationships, often work through somekind of arrangement regardless of the storms laid before them. Friendship before intimacy is the way to go, since the two have an overview of the others behaviors, habits, personality, skills, et cetera.

Mistakes are a part of life, and we should all learn from our mistakes. When a person learns from their mistakes, it illustrates loyalty and commitment. Mistakes made in relationship can help us appreciate humanity, love as well as life itself.

A good relationships include giving and taking. When one partner is giving more than the other is, the result of that will be failure. Giving includes intimacy, caring, sharing, understanding et cetera. When two people share they are giving the best of each other, thus the relationship often leads to love. Giving is one of the elements that compose love. Love is the ultimate of it all. Don't we all want to love or be loved?

Submit Your Site to Google

As soon as you register your domain name, submit it to Google! Even if you haven't built your site, or thought about your content, submit your domain name to Google. In fact, even if you haven't fully articulated your business plan and marketing plan, submit your domain name to Google.

Don't wait!

There are two reasons for this. Firstly, getting on the search engines has always taken a long time for a new site. Even assuming you do everything right, it takes months before your site is even indexed, and more months before it starts to rank well. As a rule of thumb, never expect to rank highly within 6 months of submitting your site to Google.

The second reason is a recent phenomenon called 'Google Sandbox'. Many SEO experts believe that Google 'sandboxes' new websites. Whenever it detects a new website, it withholds its rightful ranking for a period while it determines whether your site is a genuine, credible, long term site. It does this to discourage the creation of SPAM websites (sites which serve no useful purpose other than to boost the ranking of some other site).

By submitting your domain name to Google as soon as you register it, you're establishing a site history even if the site has no content. By the time you've built your site and developed your content (and written your business and marketing plans), Google will probably see no need to sandbox you.

If you wait until launch day to submit your site, you'll spend a month or two (maybe more) sitting in the sandbox watching potential customers spend their money elsewhere.

How to submit your site to Google Don't waste money by paying someone else to submit your site to Google. It's easy!

Simply go to http://www.google.com.au/addurl.html, enter your URL (domain name) and a few comments or keywords to describe your site. Then click 'Submit'. That's all there is to it. You only have to do it once, and only for your top level page (i.e. Home page).

Google's robots will then crawl your website the next time they're out and about. Of course, they don't guarantee that you'll be included in their results.

IMPORTANT: As mentioned above, it takes quite a while for your site to appear in the search engines. This is partly because the search engines are big and slow - especially when it comes to new sites. It will take a minimum of 6-8 weeks before your site is indexed.
